I’m lucky to be employed by an organization that is so committed to the idea of leveraging strengths in all facets of life. Howard County has become a grow-strong school district by focusing on what is strong, rather than what is wrong. Students and staff are leveraging individual strengths, as learned through StrengthsFinder 2.0, to ensure that we are able to be at our best at work and home.
Understanding MY Strengths
I learned through the StrengthsFinder assessment that my top five strengths are: Futuristic, Maximizer, Positivity, Strategic, and Significance. Of course, simply knowing this is not nearly enough. We are fortunate to have extraordinary strengths experts in our district. They provide professional learning opportunities to ensure that staff understands how to leverage strengths to ensure maximum results. They are also helping staff to nurture the strengths of our students.
This book has changed the way I approach many facets of my life. Knowing and understanding how to name, claim, and aim my strengths has helped me become a better employee and developing leader.
